Next generation of vessel energy monitoring unveiled
Enginei provides reports on a vessel’s fuel consumption, performance and energy use

Owners of workboats, including tugs and offshore vessels, will be able to access energy management and engine control systems to lower costs using version 2 of Royston’s enginei fuel monitoring system when this is introduced during the next three months.

Royston said this is a “new generation of highly advanced interface and energy management technologies” and that it designed this upgraded system “to deliver significant performance improvement benefits for vessel operators”.

V2 enginei interface will enable tug operators to use Royston’s enginei for fuel monitoring, data analysis and reporting. Royston said V2 enginei “heralds a significant step forward in easy-to-use, seamless reporting capabilities.”

Royston has developed a new application programming interface for enginei that means it can be fully integrated into tug and other vessel operators’ management platforms. Royston has also developed a smartphone mobile interface so vessel operators can access data and online reports using their own mobile devices.

“V2 enginei delivers improved speed and performance control via a customisable dashboard for operators looking to cut costs,” said Royston.

Enginei vessel energy management is a sensor-based monitoring system that provides real-time information about energy distribution around a vessel. This provides critical performance data and “helps operators to maximise efficiencies and deliver beneficial savings”.
